New York State does have a no-fault divorce option. The state introduced no-fault divorce as part of the Domestic Relations Law in 2010. Prior to that, New York was the last state in the United States to require one party to prove fault grounds, such as cruelty, abandonment, or adultery, to obtain a divorce.
